Jose Mier Invesitgates Avocado Pops
Okay, so I’m hooked on this Rachel Ray list of yummy frozen desserts. One in particular caught my eye and I just had to write about it. It’s not such a stretch since I’ve written previously about avocado ice cream but this one is just as decadent and a bit easier to prepare: Avocado ice pops.
One look at that creamy green color and you know these frozen treats are going to be delectable. Aside from the cream used in this treat the texture of the avocado fruit itself is going to lend a particular creaminess to the recipe.
Easy? You bet. In fact the only thing special that this recipe requires are the popscicle molds and sticks to freeze this. Ingredients are as follows: · 1 large ripe avocado , ½ cup sweetened condensed milk , ½ cup of heavy cream (chilled), a tablespoon of lime juice, a pinch of salt and 4 ice cubes. The recipe? Put all these things in a blender and process till smooth and then freeze?
See? I told you it was simple. For those looking for something cool and yet a bit exotic, this one fits the bill. Kids might get turned off by the name or turn up their noses at the thought of eating frozen avocado, but let them taste it first, THEN tell them what’s in it. For grown ups the texture and cool creaminess of these pops will have them talking about your last summer party when you made avocado pops for the next few years.
Give this extremely simply recipe a try and see if you don’t love it too.
